Federal agencies name Pella a 2007 ENERGY STAR® Partner of the YearThe U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Energy (DOE) have named Pella Corporation as the 2007 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award winner for the Product Manufacturer - Windows category for Pella's outstanding contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by manufacturing and educating consumers about energy-efficient products. Pella's accomplishments will be recognized at an awards ceremony in Washington, D.C. on March 21. Pella, an ENERGY STAR partner since 1999, will be honored for it's leadership in manufacturing products that earn the ENERGY STAR, the government-backed symbol of energy efficiency. This distinction honors Pella's commitment to providing hightly energy-efficient products, as well as the company's comprehensive integration of ENERGY STAR information in consumer education materials, advertising, web sites and training material.Last year alone, Americans with the help of ENERGY STAR, saved $14 billion on their energy bills and reduced greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to those of more than 25 million vehicles. "Pella has been committed to environmental stewardship and providing quality product solutions to our customers throughout the company's 82-year history," said Elaine Sagers, vice president of marketing for the privately-held company known for quality and innovation. "Pella is proud to be recognized by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy for providing products that help customers save money and conserve valuable natural resources." The 2007 Partner of the Year Awards are given to manufacturers and retailers that successfully promote and deliver ENERGY STAR qualified products, saving consumers money and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Award winners are selected from thousands of organizations that participate in the ENERGY STAR program each year. "Partners like Pella Corporation are national leaders in energy efficiency," said Alexander Karsner, assistant secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the Department of Energy.
