Window and Door Styles

Choosing Quality Materials and Styles:
Few things enhance your home more than windows and doors. At Pella, we take care to use the right materials for each product to ensure they deliver outstanding performance year after year.

Wood
Pella Architect Series®, Pella Designer Series® and Pella ProLine® windows and patio doors offer the warmth and beauty of wood interiors—are all available in pine. In addition, Architect Series Windows offer Mahogany, Douglas Fir or Alder interior options. The exterior of Pella wood windows are protected by Pella’s low-maintenance EnduraClad®, or EnduraClad® Plus, aluminum cladding system. Architect Series windows and patio doors also have an optional wood exterior.

Fiberglass
Pella® Impervia®, Pella’s advanced alternative material. Duracast is the strongest, most durable material available in windows and doors. Pella Impervia products are pre-finished windows that feature Duracast powder-coat paint. Powder-coat paint is resistant to dents, scratches and damaging UV light. Duracast withstands extreme heat (over 200° F), intense cold (-40° F), and is seacoast worthy.

Choose a Style:
Pella's varied Portfolio of Products includes window and door styles and shapes that fit perfectly in any home, anywhere. Which opens up all sorts of possibilities to create unique vantage points for your little corner of the world. From entry doors to skylights, we’ve got your view.

Casement Windows swing out and — because of their contemporary style — are more common in newer homes. They're great for spots where windows are difficult to reach like over the kitchen sink.

Double-Hung Windows offer a more traditional style and can be raised from the bottom or lowered from the top for two levels of ventilation. A good choice for maximizing the amount of wood inside your home.

Bay/Bow Windows
Window combinations that reach out into the world and capture the view in a limited amount of space.

  • Bay windows are typically three windows joined together. The center window is often fixed with operating double-hung or casement windows on the sides.
  • Bow windows consist of four or more casement windows joined together to form a graceful curve.

You can choose fixed windows (that cannot be opened), vented windows (that can be opened) or a combination of the two.

Awning Windows
Similar in design to casement windows, but wider than they are tall. They’re often used to add ventilation to a room or to bring in more light. They do both beautifully when placed above a door or below a window.

French Hinged Patio Doors let you make a grand entrance from the back yard. Select a French hinged patio door with one movable hinged from the center, or two movable hinged from the sides.

Sliding Patio Doors are great for tight quarters — it doesn't swing, so requires less space than a hinged door. Get a traditional look with the wide wood panels of the French style. Or go contemporary with narrow wood panels and more visible glass.

Fiberglass Entry Doors
Virtually all Pella® fiberglass entry doors meet ENERGY STAR® requirements, helping you save energy, while adding style and curb appeal to your home.

Now is a great time of year to get a fresh start on cleaning and that includes the windows. Have you ever attempted to clean your windows and what resulted was nothing more than smudging the dirt around.
