We’re at a time where we need to pay particular attention to the return on our investments in our homes – do we remodel or do we replace?

I’ve spent the morning searching to see what was out there – while there are many sites that make valid suggestions – those suggestions seem to be major projects (like large additions) and not necessarily home improvements.

Here is what we’ve found:

NBC’s Today Show shows which fix-ups bring in a better sale price at resale and which ones are just wastes, as shared by Today Real Estate Contributor, Barbara Corcoran

HGTV's Average Return at Resale
:

Minor Bathroom Remodel

102% return on your investment

Landscaping

100% return on your investment

Minor Kitchen Remodel

98.5% return on your investment

Deck or patio

90.3% return on your investment

Replacement windows

89.6% return on your investment

It was rather disturbing to wake up to the news of yet another increase in gas prices…now up to almost $4 a gallon!  Thankfully our company participates in telecommuting.
